1. Always put safety first
2. Karate begins and ends with a bow*
3. Always wear a Gi (uniform)
4. Keep fingernails and toenails cut short
5. Remove or tape jewellery
6. Tie the knot of your belt correctly
7. Train hard and maintain a dignified bearing in class
8. Treat the instructor and your fellow students with courtesy and respect
9. Treat senior grades with the proper respect and thank them for instruction
10. Avoid swearing, vulgarity or loud-talk
